Air Permeability -

The KES-F8 has been designed to measure the permeability of a sample accurately and promptly. It is applicable to a broad range of samples, from those with high permeability such as a piece of gauze, to those with low permeability, such as a waterproof fabric with moisture permeability.
The sample can be placed and measured easily; since the reading is displayed on the digital panel meter, no reading error occurs between different operators. The resolution of pressure measurement is 2 Pa, assuring high precision.
- KES-F8 sends air at a constant flow rate to the sample by the reciprocal movement of its plunger and cylinder, then discharges the air to the atmosphere through the sample.
- The pressure loss due to the sample (at a constant flow rate of (V) 4cc/cm2/sec. for standard measurement) is measured using a semiconductor type differential pressure gauge. The permeating resistance \"R\" of the sample is directly measured, and then displayed on the digital panel meter.
R = kpa s/m - The pressure loss is averaged over three seconds for each half cycle. The averages for the two half cycles are further averaged to increase the measurement accuracy.
- Each cycle of the standard measurement is completed within 10 seconds.
