Yarn Torsion Torque Tester -

The KES-YN1, a multi-purpose intersect torque testing device, has the capability of measuring two different properties: the twisting property of materials, such as thread, hair and vinyl or plastic cable, and the torque resistance property caused by the variation of intersecting threads.
In contrast with devices based on the conventional twisting pendulum method and the 20-cylinders-fluid-viscosity method, this device is designed so that it is capable of thoroughly measuring and investigating torsion and hysteresis of the fabrics and threads that have experienced twisting strain.
- This device has adopted the torsion wire system, and because it uses small operational transmission, the torsional angle does not touch anything. At maximum detection sensitivity, using the SENS1 range, it can take measurements stably to 0.04g/cm when using an output voltage of 10V at full scale.
- Optional tension can be applied by this device to the samples while measuring the tension dependency of twisting. The twisting property of threads is a significant and basic property concerning the dynamic quality of fabrics, and it contributes to different kinds of fabric deformation, such as stretching, bending and shearing; the twisting property of these threads is said to have a direct relationship with the condition of the fabrics, such as fiber and pattern deformation and wrinkling, during the manufacturing process.
- This device also has the function to place threads and hair, etc. across each other, and apply tension to the bottom part of them to shear both right and left at 30 º each.
