The Scratch Tester was created to perform linearly increasing normal load tests, as standardized by the ASTM, as a tool for the evaluation of the scratch resistance of polymers. Having a variety of applications in scratch mechanism analysis, it is particularly useful in the quantitative evaluation of the scratch properties of polymers, such as coatings and plastic molded parts.
